As the year is coming to a close, I thought I would share a bit about what’s going on for me going into 2026. In a few weeks I’ll have received my MFA in Post Production Editing and officially be on my way as a professional editor. 

My journey to reconnect with editing was something I went into with much hesitation. Life took me away from the arts and led me in many other directions by the time I reached college. Before I knew it, I hadn’t even opened an NLE software for over 10 years. Would I really enjoy it as much as I had before? More importantly, would I be any good at it?

Over the last few years I’ve fallen back in love with this craft. I was presented with opportunities to cut different genres and styles. From branded content, to narrative, to documentary, I was engulfed in the process in a big way. It didn’t happen all at once, but over time I felt myself growing more and more passionate. Wow, I really love this stuff. It’s incredible.

I’m leaving my masters program feeling motivated, inspired, determined and ready. I want to see how far this journey takes me. I want to make more, and help others to make their film dreams come true.
